Feeling Through Life Experiences

Inspired by the Feeling Body Archetype (formerly known as the Lover)

An article by Francisco Cabeza West

The first way we know we exist is through the body — sensation, warmth, hunger, connection. The Feeling Body archetype is, in many ways, the foundation of the psyche. But when early experiences overwhelm this capacity to feel, the consequences follow us through life in ways we rarely recognise. This article explores what it means to live fully in the Feeling Body — and what healing that relationship can make possible.

FAQ - Frequently asked questions

Is Shadow Work the same as talking therapy? Not exactly. Talking therapy typically works with the conscious, verbal mind. Shadow Work goes deeper — using embodiment, dialogue with parts of the psyche, and a structured understanding of the archetypes to access material that talking alone rarely reaches. Many clients who have had years of talking therapy find Shadow Work opens up entirely new ground.

Do I need any prior experience of therapy or inner work? No. Shadow Work is suitable for people at all stages of their inner journey — whether you are new to this kind of work or have extensive experience. The approach is always tailored to where you are.

What should I expect from the first session? The first session is 5 hours. This length is intentional — it allows us to move beyond the surface and begin genuine exploration. You will be guided throughout. Many clients find the first session is, in itself, a significant and meaningful experience.

Can I do sessions online? Yes. Online sessions via Zoom are available to clients worldwide. A short information sheet is provided in advance with guidance on how to set up for your session.

What is the cost? Sessions are offered on a sliding scale of £80–£160 per hour. Please choose the rate that honestly reflects your current circumstances — no explanation is needed. Concessionary rates are available for those on low incomes.

How do I know if this is right for me? The free discovery call exists precisely for this question. It is a no-obligation conversation in which we can explore whether this work feels like a good fit for where you are right now. Start a conversation here

Want to go deeper? I'm happy to suggest readings to support whatever aspect of inner work you are currently exploring. Please get in touch to let me know what you are working with and I will offer personalised recommendations.
