Acceptance
Accepting ourselves and our past is the beginning of a humbling reacquaintance with who we always were and who we always strived to be. Shadow work provides the opportunity to explore and embody these parts and establish an authentic relationship with them as they reveal their experiences, insights and gifts and a threshold for conscious choice.
Past / Future
Barriers to our own growth and development are not always visible to us as we navigate our daily lives, especially when we repeatedly turn to our personal routines and habits to remain within known and safe parameters. Addictive and distracting states can be a sign of an unresolved past and traumas, which continue to influence the experience of this moment.
Opportunities
Change and chance are constants in our lives and bring about the opportunity for new adaptive behaviours and ways of being in a changing world. It also brings to the surface areas of resistance that can be worked with and through using the tools of deep process psychotherapy, to gently explore the unconscious domain that contains the seeds for our growth using these new emerging strengths and valuable resources.
Being Present
Consciously connecting with states of anxiety, overwhelm, depression, rage and other challenging and unpredictable emotional and mental states, can offer the possibility of a new connection with these parts of us. Being present and bringing curiosity to the experience of this brings a chance for conscious change using the hidden gifts and valuable resources hidden behind these previously challenging states.

Shadow Work and Deep Process Psychotherapy is a trauma informed approach to re-connecting with repressed aspects of your psyche and their related past experiences, which remain painfully stuck and play out in your present day life in challenging and unhealthy ways.
Working with the Shadow involves becoming conscious of these unconscious parts of ourselves. When we shed light on these repressed parts and embody them in a safe and welcoming environment, the client is able to gain insights from them and the situation in which they were formed. Witnessing and embodying these parts allows for a different understanding of past events and the potential for resolution, revelation of previously hidden resources available to the client in support of their path towards healing and transformation.
